Call to Spiritual Intimacy

Mark 3:13-15 (ESV)
13 “And he went up on the mountain and called to him those whom he desired, and they came to him.
14 And he appointed twelve (whom he also named apostles) so that they might be with him and he might send them out to preach
15 and have authority to cast out demons.”

John 15:15 (ESV)
15 “No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I havemade known to you.”

Intimacy Definition:
Close familiarity or friendship; closeness.

Song of Solomon 2:4 (ESV)
4 “He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.”

Revelation 3:20 (ESV)
20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”

Intimacy begins with Salvation.
Intimacy operates in the Spirit.
Intimacy is the identifying mark of Sonship. Intimacy developed through Speaking. Intimacy is often expressed through Singing. Intimacy can even grow in Suffering. Intimacy is increased in Silence.
