According to the Word
A small house,
Unnoticed and worn by years.
Alone and frail
Body withered with time
Cane in hand
Shuffling across the room
She kneels and opening a tattered bible
Talks to her Father
Unseen and unknown to the visible
Storm clouds gather
Ominous foretelling of the destruction to come
Demons rage and angels rise
Fire and fury convulse through the heat of the sulfur stained air
Light and darkness clash in the tempest
Horse and bloody sword writhing, twisting in the midst of the fray
Screaming, crashing through the spirit realm
Legions annihilated by the unharnessed fury
Massacre in the savage expanse
Mayhem unleased as light impales the darkness
Heaven’s terrible wrath uncontained
Wrought
By the hand of the great I Am and…
a frail child of Adam.
Rising, she hobbles to her night stand
Lifts the blanket and slips to her bed
And into her nights rest.
Dust and ash rise as the last stone tumbles
By the fallen gates of
Hell
Romans 8:26, 34 (ESV)
26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 (ESV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.
13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV)
14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
