2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV)
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

The scriptures are uniquely inspired by God and thus inerrant in their revelation.

John 5:39-40
39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,
40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

The scriptures’ central theme is Jesus Christ, thus making a “Jesus Hermeneutic” essential for discerning them correctly.

Reasons the Scriptures should be of high value to us:

1. Jesus, the God/Man, highly valued and lived by the scriptures.
2. The writers are firsthand eyewitnesses who are humbly honest and pay the ultimate price.
3. Prophecies fulfilled confirm it is a supernatural book with a 100% record of accuracy.
4. Outside historical and archeological confirmation make the scriptures the most unique and trusted document on planet earth.
