In the Fall of 2017 I clearly heard the Spirit say that I was to be an:
“advocate for the Advocate”.
The Church desperately needs more of the Holy Spirit’s fellowship, leadership, ministry, and manifestation.
Much like the seed of the word of the kingdom in the parable of the sower needs good soil for the full release of its power, so the Holy Spirit requires a “good heart atmosphere” in order for His glorious ministry to be received.
The Holy Spirit does not need our help to produce more power, fruit, purity, overcoming, miracles, etc.
The Holy Spirit though requires a surrendered faith culture in our hearts and churches in order for His great presence and works to be received.
Obstacles against Spirit Fullness:
1. Blaspheming the Spirit
This is the action of “speaking against the Holy Spirit, particularly by calling the work of the Spirit the work of evil spirits. Matthew 12:31-32.
Matthew 12:31-32 (ESV)
31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
32 And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
2. Resisting the Spirit
The action of stubbornly rejecting the person and ministry of the Holy Spirit. Acts 7:51
Acts 7:51 (ESV)
51 “You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you.
3. Insulting the Spirit
The action of trusting in works of the law instead of the grace of Christ through his death and resurrection for salvation. Hebrews 10:29.
Hebrews 10:29 (NKJV)
29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?
4. Grieving the Spirit
Actions of the flesh that cause a sorrow and grief in the person of the Holy Spirit particularly through corrupt talk and bitter anger with malice. Ephesians 4:30.
Ephesians 4:30 (ESV)
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
5. Quenching the Spirit
The suppressing and putting out of God’s fiery gifts and movements. 1 Thessalonians 5:19.
1 Thessalonians 5:19 (ESV)
19 Do not quench the Spirit.
