Matthew 11:29 (ESV)
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Ephesians 4:20 (ESV)
20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!—

The central focus of a disciples’ life is Christ!
The school of the Holy Spirit is focused upon the subject of: the Christ.
The only way that our spiritual lives and mission stay healthy is by staying primarily focused upon Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 (ESV)
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 14:6 (ESV)
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The reality is that God has not given us anything outside of His Son.
Everything the Father has given us is in Jesus Christ.

The Life of a Disciple is Christ
Philippians 1:21 (ESV)
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Galatians 2:20 (ESV)
20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

The message of a disciple is Christ
Colossians 1:28 (ESV)
28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:2 (ESV)
2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

The Passion of a Disciple is knowing Christ
Philippians 3:8 (ESV)
8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

So I want to encourage and exhort you toward a high Christology!

The most famous, controversial, and historically proven man to ever walk the planet was a Jewish man named Jesus.

Amazing Facts
- He was born in supernatural controversy - to a young Jewish virgin.
- 90% of His life on earth is unknown.
- He did miracles and welcomed the poor and sinners into fellowship.
- He was a prophet/preacher who stirred up both Jew and Gentile against himself.
- He was murdered at the young age of 33.
- His disciples claimed He rose again.
- He claimed he was God and would return again to rule the earth.
- He started with 12, and now has over 2 billion followers.

Our primary source for this study is the scriptures.

The scriptures, which were written by many authors over about a 1500 year time span, have a unifying central theme:
John 5:39 (ESV)
39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,

Bible’s Christological Breakdown
- Old Testament: Generations, Types, Promises, and Prophecies of the Christ
- Gospels: First Coming of Christ
- Acts and Epistles: Mission and Church of Christ
- Revelation: Second Coming of Christ

To develop a High Christology you must utilize a Christ-o-Centric Hermeneutic to read and interact with the Scriptures.
