Part 4: Glory of a Messiah Within

Colossians 1:18 (NIV)
18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

The great need of every disciple is to have a high and deep heart-level Christology.

The primary ministry of the Holy Spirit is to enlarge your revelation of, faith in, and fellowship with Jesus Christ.

What will enable you to endure suffering and success? - A High Christology!
What will unify the Body of Christ? - A High Christology!
What will impart passion for and endurance in mission? - A High Christology!

My Mission is:
Colossians 1:28 (NKJV)
28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:11 (ESV)
11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.

All that God has given us is in His Christ!

As we have been focusing on and unpacking the glories of Christ the last few weeks, we have developed some stunning realities.
1) That the prophesied Messiah would actually be God the Word who would become flesh.
2) The prophesied Messiah would actually deliver the Jews and Gentiles, from the true enemies of sin and Satan.
3) This deliverance would involve a New Covenant rooted in a blood sacrifice by the Messiah himself who would suffer, die, and raise from the dead.
4) And tonight, we meditate on the stunning reality that this Messiah, God/Man, sacrificed/resurrected Lamb of God, would actually send His very presence by the Holy Spirit to dwell inside those that received Him by faith.

The words “in Christ” is arguably the motif of the Apostle Paul.
“In Christ”, or a form of it, appears over 200 times in his writings.

The Creation is in Christ.
The Life is in Christ.
The Acceptance is in Christ.
The Redemption is in Christ.
The Righteousness is in Christ.
The Sanctification is in Christ.
The Hope is in Christ.
The Spiritual Blessings are in Christ.
The Consolation is in Christ.
The Peace is in Christ.
The Effectual Prayer is only in Christ.
The Strength and Riches are in Christ.
The Eternal Purpose is in Christ.
The New Creation is in Christ.
The Promises are in Christ.
The Escape from Condemnation is in Christ.
The One Body is in Christ.
The Perseverance is in Christ.
The Gathering into One is in Christ.
The Bonds of Suffering Believers are in Christ.
The 'No Separation' is in Christ.
The Perfect Man is in Christ.
The Helpers Together are in Christ.
There are the Churches in Christ.
There are the Dead in Christ.
There is the One New Man and the Perfect Man in Christ.
We are Complete in Christ.

Christ is a person but He is literally a “Holy Place” and a “Heavenly Location.”
The gospel is a “Genetic Gospel” - it’s about who you are “IN”
