Genesis 29:31-35 (ESV)
31 When the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.
32 And Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben, for she said, “Because the Lord has looked upon my affliction; for now my husband will love me.”
33 She conceived again and bore a son, and said, “Because the Lord has heard that I am hated, he has given me this son also.” And she called his name Simeon.
34 Again she conceived and bore a son, and said, “Now this time my husband will be attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called Levi.
35 And she conceived again and bore a son, and said, “This time I will praise the Lord.” Therefore she called his name Judah. Then she ceased bearing.
If you are in relationships you will eventually encounter moments of Rejection or Un-loving actions towards you.
Whether in family, friendships, work relationships, etc., there will be challenging moments of real or perceived rejection and disappointment.
How you steward these moments determines whether you produce the flesh or the spirit.
Leah is a powerful example of this reality and multiple responses to rejection.
1. Produce: The one who rejects me will accept me now because I have produced - Reuben
2. More: The one who rejects me will surely accept me because I have double produced - Simeon
3. Hook: The one who rejects me will now make an attachment to me because of what I have done - Levi
4. Praise: I am no longer focused upon the one who rejects me but will now PRAISE the Lord - Judah
Matthew 1:1-2, 16 (ESV)
1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
2 Abraham was the father of Isaac, and Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers,
16 and Jacob the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ.
If we allow our rejection or seeming rejection to birth praise it will eventually birth Christ.
