“You thought that your greatest benefit of getting older was the gaining of wisdom, but it is not the greatest. The greatest gift is WEAKNESS and then wisdom”.
I was startled, humbled, and encouraged by this word. Weakness, which age brings, sets us up for sufficient grace to perfect power through our lives.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
I have been tempted to despair and resist the weakness when my Father called it a gift. I also sensed that the strength of youth was often in opposition to this reality.
