Jonathan gives a word much emphasized by Jesus in Matthew 24 - “Watch Out For Deception!” These last days offer many options for “a” Jesus, “a” spirit and “a” gospel - other than those we have been given from God. He gives 4 hallmarks of deception from the Scriptures and shares the wild story of prophetic deception out of I Kings 13. We must KNOW the Lord and His word in order to stay on the right path.
Numbers 21:16-18 (NIV) 16 From there they continued on to Beer, the well where the Lord said to Moses, “Gather the people together and I will give them water.” 17 Then Israel sang this song: “Spring up, O well! Sing about it, 18 about the well that the princes dug, that the nobles of the people sank—the nobles with scepters and staffs.” Then they went from the wilderness to Mattanah,
Song of Solomon 4:12-16 (NIV) 12 You are a garden locked up, my sister, my bride; you are a spring enclosed, a sealed fountain. 13 Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates with choice fruits, with henna and nard, 14 nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with every kind of incense tree, with myrrh and aloes and all the finest spices. 15 You are a garden fountain, a well of flowing water streaming down from Lebanon. 16 Awake, north wind, and come, south wind! Blow on my garden, that its fragrance may spread everywhere. Let my beloved come into his garden and taste its choice fruits.
Song of Solomon 5:2 (NIV) 2 I slept but my heart was awake. Listen! My beloved is knocking: “Open to me, my sister, my darling, my dove, my flawless one. My head is drenched with dew, my hair with the dampness of the night.”
Isaiah 41:17-18 NIV) 17 “The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them. 18 I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.
John 7:38 (NIV) 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

DO NOT BE DECEIVED!
Genesis 3:1 - Did God actually Say? …
1 Timothy 4:1 - End times - some will depart from faith, devoted to deceitful teachings
2 Timothy 3:13 - End Times - evil people from bad to worse, deceived and being deceived
2 Thessalonians 2:3 - Let no one deceive you, That day will not come unless the Man of Lawlessness is revealed
Genesis 3:1 (NIV) 1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
1 Timothy 4:1 (NIV) 1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
2 Timothy 3:13 (NIV) 13 while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
2 Thessalonians 2:3 (NIV) 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction.
Matthew 24: 4-5, 11, 23-27 (NIV) 4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time. 26 “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Don’t Go Out Searching for It
Don’t Believe It
Matthew 24:27 - It will be EXTREMELY clear - Matthew 24:27 (NIV) 27 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Compared to SHEEP not Foxes - HE WILL HELP US!
1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 – TEST 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 (NIV) 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not treat prophecies with contempt 21 but test them all; hold on to what is good, 22 reject every kind of evil.
1 John 4:1 - Don’t believe every spirit – TEST - 1 John 4:1 (NIV) 1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 Corinthians 11:1-4 (NIV) 1 I hope you will put up with me in a little foolishness. Yes, please put up with me! 2 I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.
