Starting in Isaiah 40, Jonathan teaches about Jacob’s complaint of his way & cause being forgotten by the Lord. It is turned back into a question from the Lord - “what about My way, and My cause?” Moving to Psalms 149, we see the Lord’s agenda & glorious partnership for His honored Bride. To execute vengeance on God’s enemy with worship and the Word!

Notes

Isaiah 40:26-31 (NIV)
26 Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
27 Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”?
28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Jacob says My Way / Path is hidden (he does not see what’s happening to me)
- and the Lord says - “MY Way” / Path is the hidden way / path

Israel says My Cause / the justice due me is disregarded / passed over by God
- “MY Cause” / The Justice Due ME has been disregarded / passed over by man

In the waiting - we are being realigned with HIS WAY - we are being re-envisioned with HIS CAUSE / JUSTICE

Jacob - Supplanter / Heel Grabber - My way
Israel - Contender / Fighter / Wrestler - My cause / my justice

Psalms 149 (NIV)
1 Praise the Lord. Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.
2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the people of Zion be glad in their King.
3 Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with timbrel and harp.
4 For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.
5 Let his faithful people rejoice in this honor and sing for joy on their beds.
6 May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands,
7 to inflict vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples,
8 to bind their kings with fetters, their nobles with shackles of iron,
9 to carry out the sentence written against them—this is the glory of all his faithful people. Praise the Lord.

Seven Commands
- Sing to Him (corporately)
- Rejoice in Him
- Be glad in Him
- Praise His Name
- Make music to Him
- Rejoice in the honor of His delight & crowning victory

- To bind the enemy leaders (keys of kingdom)
- Carry out / Execute the written judgement against them

THIS is the glory/honor of His faithful people (the Bride / Church)
