In John 18:36, Jesus said “now my kingdom is from another place (not of this world)”. We as the Church live in that “now”, but we are on the precipice of Revelation 11:15 which says, “The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord…”  We must prepare our hearts for this coming, visceral Kingdom on the earth.  Sharing a prophetic word from the WW2 Naval Battle of Casablanca in 1942, Jonathan teaches about the need to “break up with the world” - NOW!  The wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience! True religion, according to James 1, is “keeping ourselves from becoming polluted by the world.”  Finishing in First John 1 and 2, we see that walking in the light is necessary for fellowship with the Lord, with other believers, and for the blood of Jesus washing our sins away daily.

Notes

John 18:36 (NIV)
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”

Revelation 11:15 (NIV)
15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

“In" but not "of”

Naval Battle of Casablanca - November 1942

1 John 2:15-17 (NIV)
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.
17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

James 1:27 (NIV)
27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

John’s Epistle - The way to enjoy eternal life

Themes:
God is Light
1 John 1:5 (NIV)
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
1 John 2:8 (NIV)
8 Yet I am writing you a new command; its truth is seen in him and in you, because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.

God is Love
1 John 4:8, 16, 19 (NIV)
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
19 We love because he first loved us.

IF you want to live with, abide in, walk with God - you must do it in Light and Love

1 John 1:5-8 (NIV)
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Fellowship with God (Living in Light)
Fellowship with one another
Blood purifies us from all/every sin
