Eric Loss shares on joy, a fruit of the spirit, that is firstly formed in the fires of adversity, and given to us on the other side of the flames in Christ.

What is joy?
1. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit
2. Joy is forged in the fire of adversity

Psalm 126:5-6 (KJV)
5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 He that goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Hebrews 12:2 (summary)
Who for the joy set before Him (In bringing many sons into glory) endured the cross, despised the shame, and is set at the right hand of the Father.

Isaiah 35:8-10 (NKJV)
8 A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray.
9 No lion shall be there, Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; It shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there,
10 And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

A highway of holiness, the redeemed shall walk there and the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs and everlasting JOY upon their heads: they shall obtain JOY and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Isaiah 51:11 (KJV)
11 Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head, they shall obtain gladness and JOY and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Revelation 7:9-12 (KJV)
9 After this I beheld and lo a great multitude which no man could number of all nations and kindreds and people and tongues stood before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice saying, Salvation to our God who sits upon the throne and unto the Lamb.
11 And ALL THE ANGELS stood round about the throne and about the elders and four beasts and fell before the throne on their faces and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honor and power and might be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

6) Joy is expressive

1 Peter 1:8-9 - We rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory receiving the end of our faith, even the salvation of our souls.  How? By the trial of our faith so that our faith would be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ, whom you love!

Jeremiah 15:16 - Your words are a joy and a delight.
John 15:9-11 - Abide in my love, have my joy and let it be full.
Psalm 16:11 - In your presence is fullness of joy.
Psalm 51:7-12 - Purify me, wash me, make me hear joy and gladness. Let the bones which you have broken rejoice.  Restore unto me the joy of my salvation.
Romans 5:11 - Joy in God thru Jesus!
Proverbs 17:22 - A joyful heart is good medicine.

7) Joy is good medicine

Psalm 105:43: Brought forth His people with joy and his chosen with gladness!

Church, there is so much joy to be had in Christ!
