Using three sections of the book of Jeremiah as a guide, Eric Loss teaches about the biblical reasons the voice of the bride and bridegroom have become silent in the church.  He then lays out the hope and promise of the sound of those voices being restored - namely, repentance and restoration!  Intimacy with the Father must not be disregarded, and we must press in and seek His face knowing He IS a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him!

Notes

2 Corinthians 4:6 (KJV)
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 7:34 (KJV)
34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

The voice of joy, gladness, groom, and bride have ceased from the land. Why? v 28.

Jeremiah 7:28 (KJV)
28 But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

1. They don’t obey the voice of the Lord their God.
2. They don’t receive correction.
3. Truth is perished and cut off from their mouth.

Jeremiah 16:9 (KJV)
9 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.

The voice of joy, gladness, groom, and bride have ceased from that place in their eyes and in their days. Why? vs. 11 and 12.

Jeremiah 16:11-12 (KJV)
11 Then shalt thou say unto them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, saith the Lord, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshipped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law;
12 And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me:

1. The fathers forsook the Lord.
   a. Walked after other gods, served them, worshipped them.  Three step process of sin.
   b. Forsaken the Lord.
   c. Have not kept God’s law.  They chose curse over blessing by not keeping the law of God.
2. You’ve done worse.
   a. Walked after the imagination of their own evil heart.
   b. So that they may not listen to obey God’s voice.

Jeremiah 25:10 (KJV)
10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

The voice of joy, gladness, groom, and bride; the sound of millstone and the light of the candle is taken away by the Lord. Why? vs. 7 and 8

Jeremiah 25:7-8 (KJV)
7 Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the Lord; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
8 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,

1. They don’t listen and obey.
2. They provoked the Lord to anger by the works of their hands.
3. They have not heard my words.

Jeremiah 33:10-11 (KJV)
10 Thus saith the Lord; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,
11 The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the Lord of hosts: for the Lord is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the Lord.

Again there will be heard in this place, the voice of joy, gladness, groom, and bride! How?! Why? Verse 3.

Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV)
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

What did the Lord do following repentance? vs. 6-9

Jeremiah 33:6-9 (KJV)
6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
7 And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.
8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
9 And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

1. The Lord will bring health.
2. The Lord will cure.
3. The Lord will reveal an abundance of peace and truth.
4. The Lord will cause the captives to return.
5. The Lord will build them.
6. The Lord will cleanse all iniquity.
7. The Lord will pardon all iniquity.
8. The Lord will cause to prosper.

Revelation 6:15-16 (KJV)
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

What prevents you from coming to Him and beholding His face?
