"Because of Judahs unrepentant idolatry, God told Jeremiah not even to pray for them. The Sovereign Yahweh Himself would fight against Judah (through Babylon) with His own mighty arm and outstretched hand (a ""reverse Exodus""). He mercifully promised survival (as exiles for 70 years) to those who would willingly surrender to Babylon."
