Matthew 28:18-20
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Part 1: And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
Part 2: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
Part 3: “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
1. The Authority of Jesus
2. The Responsibility given by Jesus
3. The Security of Jesus
We all Know the AUTHORITY of JESUS
Let us talk about the RESPONSIBILITY given to us
We must know that the Mission is to Go and Makes Disciples of All Nations.
1. GOING
2. MAKING DISCIPLES
3. IN ALL NATIONS
How did Jesus make disciples?
Jesus - the Model Missionary:
1. He Prayed and received guidance from the Holy Spirit
2. He Called/Chose His place and People with whom to work
3. He Showed/Trained - involved them in mission
4. He Empowered or Equipped
5. He Commissioned - Sent them
Remember the Word ALL
The Commissioner - Jesus is the Global King - King over all the Nations
The Commission - Jesus gave us the Global Commission - To go into all the nations
The Committed - Jesus’ Disciples (12) did it in a Global Level (Not in a local level). They literally went to the Nations. We need to plan GOING to all the NATIONS
So now ... Let us have an Action Plan
Let Pray for all the nations specifically. Do we have the list of the nations?
Let us Call People for each Nation (Keep calling till we get missionaries for all the nations). Have we chosen or identified people to go into all the nations?
Let us take them in to the nations - mission fields - and show them how to do this. To how many nations we have been so far? Have we initiated the work of the kingdom?
Let is Equip the committed people in different contexts. Do we continually equipping them?
Let us Send them to the nations. To how many nations we have sent the people/missionaries?
It is not visiting alone; but going to stay in the field.
It is not supporting alone; but sending to continually work in the field.
It is not training or equipping alone; but experiencing right there in the field.
We are like wheat grains:
It has to be prepared - equipped and committed,
It has to be planted - sown on the ground - gone into the field, and
It has to be permanent - it has to die. It never comes back. It is gone. That is it.
Are we grains of wheat for Jesus?
John 12:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
1 Corinthians 15:36
You foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.
Are you fearful of going?
Are you worried about your needs?
Are you thinking of the persecutions?
Jesus said He will be with you.
If you literally obey the Commission you will have the five fold blessings:
The Presence of Jesus
The Power of Jesus
The Provision of Jesus
The Protection of Jesus
The Promotion of Jesus
