For Such a Time As This

I believe that we live in the most unique generation since the generation in which Jesus lived.

We do not want to have "generational pride" but we do not want to be neglectful of clear signs which tell us where we are on God's prophetic timetable. 

At the end of our lives we want to be able to say as is said about David  in Acts 13:36, "For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep..".

I believe that just like Esther you were born for such a time as this. 

Esther 4:9-17

And Hathach went and told Esther what Mordecai had said. 10 Then Esther spoke to Hathach and commanded him to go to Mordecai and say, 11 “All the king's servants and the people of the king's provinces know that if any man or woman goes to the king inside the inner court without being called, there is but one law—to be put to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter so that he may live. But as for me, I have not been called to come in to the king these thirty days.” 12 And they told Mordecai what Esther had said. 13 Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not think to yourself that in the king's palace you will escape any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” 15 Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, 16 “Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do. Then I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.” 17 Mordecai then went away and did everything as Esther had ordered him.

In this story:

• Haman is as Satan or the Anti-Christ trying to destroy God’s people
• King Ahasuerus is as God with all power
• Mordecai is as the Holy Spirit
• Esther is as the Church called to intercede and plead in the King’s favor for justice

What Esther finally realizes is that she was born for such a time and that she must be “all in” and willing to die in order to move the King’s heart with the favor she has been given.

We live in the most unique generation since the generation in which Jesus lived. And God has designed this:

Acts 17:26

And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, 

Reasons that this is a unique generation:

• Jewish Sign: In 1948 the Jews were given authority over their land after over 2000 years and many prophecies.
• Jerusalem Sign: In 1967 the Jewish people got back control of Jerusalem which was prophesied many times.
• Jewish Calendar Signs: Shemitahs (The 7 cycle in Israels covenant farming), Jubilees (The radical 50 year year of liberty), Talmud 6000 prophecy (They believe that this will start the time of the Messiah. Traditional calendar is at about 5775 but some scholars believe that date is off by some 240 years because of wrong dating during the time of Daniel- which would put the 6000th year at around our 2000AD), 6 days as 6000 years of Genesis 1 and Psalm 90- The creation millennial theory. 
• Nature & Cosmic Signs: Earthquakes & Blood Moons
• Knowledge/technology & Travel Sign: Daniel prophesied in 12:4

Daniel 12:4

But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

• Nations Sign: Modern day Russia, China, and the Arab world all to be specifically prophesied about in scripture, here is a list:

1) Re-establishment of Israel. (Ezekiel 36:22 - 37:1-2; Zechariah 12:1-6; Matthew 24:32-34; Mark 13:28- 30; and Luke 21:29-31). 

2) Arab hostility toward Israel (Ezekiel 35:1 - 36:7). 

3) Russia as a menacing power to Israel (Ezekiel 38:1 - 39:16). 

4) Asian nations capable of fielding an army of 200 million (Revelation 9:15-16 and 16:12). 

5) Wars and rumors of wars (Matthew 24:6-7; Mark 13:7-8; and Luke 21:10). 

6) Kingdom against kingdom -- that is, civil wars and ethnic wars (Matthew 24:7; Mark 13:8; and Luke 21:10). 

7) Reunification of Europe (Daniel 2:41-44, 7:8, 24-25, and 9:26). 

8) Movement toward a one world economy (Revelation 18).

• Global Sin Sign: Multiple verses speak of mass proliferation of sin and wickedness along with cults and apostasy of the faithful
• Missional Sign: The near fulfillment of Matthew 24:14

Matthew 24:14

And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Jesus said we should know the signs

Luke 12:54-56

He also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, ‘A shower is coming.’ And so it happens. 55 And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and it happens. 56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time?

Paul said we believers who are in the light would not be caught by surprise

1 Thessalonians 5:2-6

For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape 4 But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. 5 For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. 6 So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. 

The Fig Tree Prophecy and the Last Generation 

Matthew 24:32-34

“From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 34 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 

I believe that we are that generation!

What does this mean practically?

God is calling and gifting members of this last generation with varying missions and manifestations. 

• Esthers: Put in places of favor to stop satanic destruction and to release justice - foils a strategy of the enemy to destroy God’s people and purpose
• Josephs: Given wisdom for preparation for times of great trial - seven fat cows & seven lean cows
• Cyrus’s: Given great wealth with prophetic purpose to fund kingdom work to completion - Funds and commissions the restoration of the temple
• Daniels: Discerns from the Word the times and moves in prayer and proclamation ministries - Moved by the book of Jeremiah, he prays, prophesies, and preaches up a restoration movement
• Moses’s: Given assignments of great prophetic purpose & power to release the judgments of God on the anti-Christ’s kingdom and delivers the people of God - Egypt to Promise Land
• Noahs: Are given practical instructions on how to escape wickedness and judgment - Blameless in global wickedness & Ark during flood
• Davids: Are gifted with a lover/warriors who worship strong and slay enemies that endanger the sheep of God - lions/tigers/bears oh my & demons, and Goliaths

Pray for wisdom into which you are in this unique day and then go for it with all your heart!!
