Daniel and his three friends resolved not to defile himself with the worlds resource for life and strength, resolved not to bow before gold or man, and resolved to bow and worship his God three times every day. Therefore, they received supernatural strength, wisdom, revelation, deliverance, visitations, and effectiveness in evangelism.
"When you obey God, there is almost always a famine, a trial in which you must continue to trust and obey, rather than run to the world. Starting with Abraham, the people of Israel repeatedly went to Egypt for help when they should have trusted the Lord. May adversity and affliction be our teachers, as we learn to wait on God and hear His voice (Isaiah 30)."
"God the Son became a Man to destroy the works of the devil, to free us from fear of death and judgment, and to become a merciful and faithful high priest that we may be restored to Mans original purpose."
"Being saved is a spiritual act, so we must use spiritual means to evangelize: spiritual words, spiritual prayer, spiritual gifts, spiritual ministering. Includes testimonies from Tim, Levi, and Steve."
"Jesus was prompted, prayerful, powerful, personal, and practical. The dynamics in Jesus evangelism have more to do with relationship than method. The key to relationship is time."
"Jesus attempted to impart to His disciples a new vision of people. To see people spiritually is essential to evangelism. Jesus experienced gut-wrenching compassion for unbelievers. We dont. A changed vision will lead to a changed prayer, which will lead to a changed mission."
"God prepared works for us to do before the foundation of the world. Obey every leading of the Spirit, because your obedience affects the whole of Gods purpose, as does your disobedience. Demon spirits blind unbelievers to the Gospel and work in them to produce rebellion against the glory of God. Evangelism is the only way to change the tide of the raging river of spiritual darkness flowing through our neighborhoods and world."
Ezekiel prophesied a new covenant for the purpose of Spirit-empowered obedience (36:26-27). Our obedience releases blessing to swallow up the curse that is in the earth.
The core of true discipleship is teaching to obey (Mt. 28:20). Jesus said true love for Him manifests in obedience (Jn. 14:21-23). King Saul illustrates three potential blocks to complete obedience.
"Definitions of terms. Biblical anatomy. A breakdown of 1 Corinthians 14. Different kinds of prophecy and tongues. Can mistakes be made? Why do we need prophecy and tongues, and for how long?"
"In this final session, Sam again brought all of the topics under the Bibles central theme: the kingdom of this world becoming the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ."
"Paul said we should not be uninformed about the nine manifestations of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12. The Holy Spirit leads us into the Lordship of Jesus, produces fruit, and manifests gifts for the edification of the Body."
"God has designed all according to this order: word, then faith, then manifestation. Everyone believes - either in truth or in lies. Everyone produces fruit of faith - either good or bad. What kinds of words will you live by?"
