Using the Matthew 26 story of Peter’s seven-stage deliverance from leaning on human strength, Jonathan teaches about Jesus’ desire to help us get to the end of "ourselves”. Only after Peter was broken and weeping could he be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The great general Naaman (2 Kings 5) was told to simply dip in the Jordan for healing; no “great thing” was required. We, like him, are called to abandon our own human effort and simply pray for healing for our land. Will we humble ourselves and obey?
