Following Brock’s word, Jonathan shifts his sermon and shares some personal examples of how and where he “purchases oil”. The five unwise virgins had no problem with their lamps or their hearing - rather they failed to have oil. The solution? “Go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.” It is a personal transaction. At the end, Lizzie shares a confirming word concerning the multiple mentions of John 17 today.
Drew shares a vision he had this week concerning the growth of life within the hardened shell of bamboo. Eric and Dick follow this with two different interpretations for the vision - one individual and one corporate.
Jonathan shares a Father’s Day exhortation from 1 Corinthians 16 where he unpacks Paul’s first and only use of the word “androzomai” in scripture. This father’s day, “Act Like Men!” - Be ready for battle, stand firm and stand together!
Our sister Sandy Bell shares her story of cancer diagnosis and surgery. She finishes with some good, exciting news and a big thank you for being well loved!
Eric reads excerpts from two of Watchman Nee’s books. In them, he lifts out the reality of seed life - the need for the hardened outer shell to be broken, so that the life inside might be released. For many new Christians, circumstances seem to get worse after they surrender their life to Jesus, leaving them disillusioned - unfit for use in the world or Christ’s kingdom. We must embrace His healing in our brokenness that we might be given to the world and that His life might pour forth!
Michelle gives testimony about a work of freedom the Lord accomplished in her life enabling her to be who she is IN Him. She then shares a song based on Hebrews 12 and the cloud of witnesses telling us, “COME ON!”
Eric teaches from the old and new testaments on the beauty of the God-Man Jesus Christ. Starting in Ephesians 5, we see that the Church will be beautified, purified and made spotless. In Isaiah 33, God's people receive the promise, "... your eyes will see the King in his beauty, and view a land that stretches afar." Oh for that great day! Eric finishes with inviting us to look upon Jesus with the eyes of our heart as he reads the Revelation chapter 1 description of Him.
